In October I set up at Thunderbolt Pier. The marshland across the river was composed of orange-tinged spartina. It was a comfortable spot with a convenient wooden rail on which Iset my art supplies.

A few people were shrimping on the pier and doing well that day. One woman was enthusiastic about the potential income from her catch, which she planned to deliver to friends.

As the afternoon progressed, the river took on a wash of pink around 4:30.
