A Line In Use; Walking Searching; Gilgamesh

The narrative is a line carried forward thousands of years, a route taken, spoken, recorded, lost, found, and used again. Similarly, a path remains visible through repeated passage. Its persistence depends on use: it offers a way forward, though not the only one. Like a path, a text survives because people continue to read, copy, translate, and reinterpret it. Other routes are possible, but this one remains in use. To follow that line is to enter its continuity. Each reading, translation, and reinterpretation becomes another passage along the path.

Paths do not eliminate uncertainty. They provide orientation while leaving much of the surrounding landscape unknown. One may follow a path without knowing exactly what will be found. In this sense, walking and learning share a common structure: both are acts of movement through partial knowledge.

In this work, a line is taken up through walking, drawing, and acts of searching.
